Understanding the treatment
A professional chemical peel uses a carefully selected acid formulation to remove accumulated dead skin cells and encourage healthy cellular renewal.
Dermedics 40% peels are available in glycolic, lactic and mandelic formulations. Each peel has different properties and may be selected according to your skin type, sensitivity and primary concerns.
Every treatment begins with a detailed skin consultation so the most appropriate peel strength, preparation and aftercare can be recommended.
Personalised professional peels

The Dermedics Glycolic Peel 40% is a professional-grade chemical peel designed to exfoliate the skin, encourage cellular renewal and reveal a brighter, smoother and more even-looking complexion.
Formulated with 40% glycolic acid, this treatment exfoliates the upper layers of the skin. It may be selected for dullness, uneven texture, superficial pigmentation, acne-prone skin and early signs of ageing.
Following a thorough consultation and preparation, the peel is carefully applied before being neutralised and finished with soothing, hydrating skincare. Mild redness or light flaking may occur. Your practitioner will explain the expected recovery and whether a personalised course would be appropriate.

The Dermedics Lactic Peel 40% is designed to brighten, hydrate and revitalise the skin while improving the appearance of tone and texture.
Formulated with 40% lactic acid, the treatment exfoliates the skin’s surface. It may be considered for dry, dehydrated or mature skin, with sensitive skin requiring individual assessment.
The aim is a smoother, softer and more radiant-looking complexion while supporting the skin’s moisture balance. Following consultation, the peel is carefully applied, neutralised and completed with soothing, hydrating skincare. Recovery varies, and a personalised course may be recommended.

The Dermedics Mandelic Peel 40% is a professional chemical peel designed to exfoliate, brighten and clarify the skin.
Mandelic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that penetrates more slowly than glycolic acid. This formulation may be considered for concerns about texture, congestion, pigmentation and visible signs of ageing.
Oily, blemish-prone, sensitive or darker skin tones may be considered following professional assessment. Rosacea-prone or currently irritated skin needs particular care rather than an assumption of suitability.
Following consultation, the peel is carefully applied, neutralised and completed with calming, hydrating skincare. Your practitioner will explain possible skin responses, expected recovery and whether a course is appropriate.

Consultation-led skin care
Chemical peels must be selected according to your individual skin. Your consultation allows us to assess your skin type, sensitivity, current condition and primary concerns.
We will also review relevant medical history, current skincare, recent treatments and any factors that may affect your suitability or recovery.
Your practitioner will explain the recommended formulation, possible skin responses, downtime, aftercare and realistic outcomes before treatment.
Personalised treatment selection
Your practitioner will select the formulation according to your skin, sensitivity and concerns.
| Peel | Focus | Concerns to discuss |
|---|---|---|
| Glycolic 40% | Resurfacing | Dullness, congestion, uneven texture, superficial pigmentation, enlarged pores and early signs of ageing. |
| Lactic 40% | Hydrating | Dry, dehydrated or mature skin needing softness and hydration. Sensitivity requires assessment. |
| Mandelic 40% | Clarifying | Oily, blemish-prone or pigmentation-prone skin. Sensitive skin requires assessment. |
Important: The most suitable peel cannot be selected from skin concerns alone. Your complete skin condition, sensitivity, medical history and current skincare must also be assessed. Individual results vary and no particular outcome can be guaranteed.
Protecting your results
Personalised instructions will be provided following treatment. General guidance may include the following.
Use the recommended broad-spectrum sun protection and avoid unnecessary direct sun exposure while the skin is renewing.
Use gentle, hydrating skincare and avoid strong active ingredients until your practitioner advises that they can be reintroduced.
Allow any dryness or light flaking to resolve naturally. Picking or exfoliating may irritate the skin and affect recovery.
Attend recommended review or treatment appointments and contact the clinic if you experience an unexpected skin reaction.
Helpful treatment information
Our Kettering team can explain the differences and assess which option suits your skin.
01536 675112 ↗Glycolic is the resurfacing option in this collection, considered for dullness, congestion and uneven texture. Lactic focuses on hydration and softness, while mandelic is the slower-penetrating, clarifying option for concerns such as blemishes and uneven-looking tone.
Your practitioner will assess your skin and sensitivity before recommending a formulation. A shared 40% concentration does not mean the three peels are interchangeable.
